Problem-Solving Tools
The tools in their toolbox include:
1. Asking the person to STOP.
2. Ignoring
3. Walk Away
4. Then tell an ADULT.
(This of course doesn't include physical incidents or on-going bully-like behaviors.)

Zones of Regulation
The Zones of Regulation is a curriculum used by School Counselors and Special Education staff district wide that is designed to foster self-regulation and emotional control. All students at Perkett know the Zones language and I have multiple small groups that discuss and participate in the Zones in depth as well as two guidance lessons at the beginning of the year focused on this curriculum. Buddy Bench
8 years ago
What is a Buddy Bench?
The Buddy Bench is a bench where students sit when they need someone to play with. The idea is to help eliminate loneliness and promote friendship.
Buddy Bench Rules
1. Before you sit on the Buddy Bench ask someone else to play with you first. If they don’t want to play then think of something you would like to do while you wait.
2. The bench isn’t for socializing. Only sit there if you can’t find someone to play with.
3. While you’re sitting on the bench, look around for a game you can join. If you see something you want to do or a friend you want to talk to, get off the bench!
4. When you see someone on the bench, ask that person to play with you.
5. If you’re sitting on the bench, play with the first classmate who invites you.
