The Minot Public School District’s weather committee makes the decision to cancel school, delay starting time, or begin school at the regular time. In the event that a severe storm occurs during the day, children will be kept at school until parents pick them up or until after the storm subsides. Parents reserve the right to keep children at home or pick them up early from school.
We use temperature and wind chill to make the determination on outside recess. If the air temperature is -5 and below or the wind chill is -15 and below children stay inside for recess.
